Privacy policy

The short version

Your images are processed in your browser and are never uploaded. We do not have your files, your file names or the contents of your images, so we cannot read, keep or share them.

The site stores a small anonymous counter so the free daily limit can work. The details are below.

Your images

When you add an image, your browser reads it into memory and background workers on your device convert it. The result is saved from your browser to your own storage when you press download. The site restricts the page to its own host for network calls, so the code that handles your images has nowhere else to send them.

If you install the site as an app and share an image to it from your phone, the file is held in a temporary browser cache until the page has read it, then removed.

What is stored on your device

You can clear all of this at any time from your browser settings. Clearing it resets your daily count on that browser.

  • An anonymous random ID, kept in local storage and in a first-party cookie named bx_anon that lasts one year. It exists only to count the daily limit.
  • A count of images used today and the date.
  • Your theme choice, any size presets and recipes you save, and whether you have dismissed the install prompt.
  • Copies of the site's own files and codecs, kept by a service worker so the site works offline.

What the server sees

Before an image is processed the page asks our server whether your counter has room. The request contains the anonymous ID, the date and how many images to count. The server combines the ID with the first part of your IP address (the /24 range for IPv4, the /64 range for IPv6), hashes them together with the date, and keeps a number under that hash for 24 hours. The IP address is not stored in readable form and no file or file name is sent. If the server cannot be reached, the page falls back to the local counter.

The site is served by Cloudflare, which may keep ordinary request logs such as IP address and time under its own policies.

Analytics and advertising

No analytics are active at the time of writing. If cookieless analytics are turned on, this page will name the tool. No advertising is shown, although space is reserved in the layout. If ads are added, this policy will be updated before they appear and will describe the cookies they use.

Your choices

Because we hold no images and no account data, there is little to access or delete beyond the anonymous counter. If you have a question about it, or want to know more, write to hello@brainoxa.com. A counter entry expires on its own after 24 hours.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the bottom of the page changes with it.
